About EOPD Ireland

EOPD Ireland is a registered Irish charity (Charity Number: 20206267) founded and led by people living with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease (EOPD).

We are a patient-led organisation supported by a dedicated team of volunteers and staff. Our work is informed by lived experience, ensuring that the needs, experiences and voices of people living with EOPD remain at the heart of everything we do.

Our Vision

Our vision is that everybody with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease has what they need to live a fulfilling life.

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the lives of people who live with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease and support them to enhance their quality of life through information, advocacy, and member support.

What We Do

EOPD Ireland works to raise awareness and understanding of Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease, educate the public and professionals, reduce stigma and help break down barriers faced by people living with EOPD in healthcare, social and professional settings.

We provide free information, support and resources for people living with EOPD and their families, including educational resources, signposting to relevant services and exercise programmes, and expert-led webinars featuring healthcare professionals and specialists.

We also facilitate social events, community meetups and online opportunities for connection, helping people living with EOPD to connect with others who understand their experiences.

Advocacy & Representation

Advocacy is a central part of our work. We seek to ensure that the experiences and voices of people living with EOPD are heard by decision-makers and represented in discussions around healthcare, social supports, employment, research and wider policy.

We work with partners across the health, disability, research and community sectors to promote greater understanding of EOPD and advocate for meaningful improvements for the EOPD community across Ireland.

Our Approach

As an organisation founded and led by people living with EOPD, lived experience is at the heart of our work. We are committed to ensuring that people affected by EOPD have a voice in the issues that affect their lives and that our work remains focused on improving quality of life, inclusion, connection and access to appropriate support.
