Inspired by the work Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease Ireland are doing to raise awareness and support for those with Parkinson’s we have added them to our fundraiser. 

Sean was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2020. For an avid runner, who had completed 3 marathons in the years leading up to his diagnosis, it was a huge blow to no longer be able to do what he loved.

Sean was also a keen hiker and has returned to the mountains since the covid restictions lifted. There, he is no longer restricted by his disease, but back to his old self. The steeper the climb the better for him. Prior to his diagnosis Sean had taken part in many challenges on mountains, raising funds for various good causes. 

Sean is now organising a family hike of six of the Twelve Bens in Connemara, in aid of Early Onset Parkinson’s (EOPD.ie). The climb will take place on July 29th(weather permitting, but if not that date soon before or after.
