What are the symptoms of Early Onset Parkinson’s?

There are many potential signs and symptoms of EOPD and each person can experience them differently. It’s important to note that the order and severity of these symptoms can vary from person to person.

The more common symptoms of Early onset Parkinson’s include:

  • Tremor
  • Rigidity (stiffness)
  • Slowness of movement
  • Reduced sense of smell
  • Loss of natural swing in one arm while walking
  • Shoulder pain (frozen)
  • Sleep problems
  • Pain
  • Depression
  • Brain fog

Apart from the physical challenges of the disease, people with early onset Parkinson’s (sometimes referred to as EOPD) face unique issues related to family, career, finances and time management. Talking with other people at the same life stage, with EOPD, can be very helpful as they understand what you are experiencing.
