Join Our Free Creative Writing Workshops As We Explore Themes Relating To Living With EOPD In Ireland

Because your voice matters. Your story matters.
We’re delighted to invite the EOPD community to take part in a series of free, inclusive, and inspiring creative writing workshops, designed and facilitated by Fighting Words, especially for people living with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease.
This is a space to learn how to tell stories that matter—your stories. Through creativity, collaboration, and shared experience, we’ll explore how writing can be a powerful way to express what it means to live with EOPD, while building connection, confidence, and resilience.
Words Have Power
These workshops are rooted in the belief that creativity is for everyone. Writing isn’t about grammar or getting it “right”—it’s about expression, imagination, and being heard. We will have a dedicated typist taking care of the practical stuff on the day, this is a moment for you to be able to open up creatively and share your voice.
Together, participants will explore themes such as stigma, empowerment, identity, and navigating a diagnosis, using creative writing as a cathartic and affirming way to tell our stories. You and the group will decide which themes resonate most, ensuring that the work created truly reflects the lived experiences of the EOPD community.
What We’ll Create Together
- A welcoming, supportive space to connect with others in the EOPD community
- Group-led conversations to shape themes that feel meaningful to you
- Collaborative development of a screenplay as a shared creative response
- Opportunities to explore songwriting and other forms of creative writing
- Support and encouragement throughout—no writing experience needed
Our experienced facilitator, Colm Kearney will gently guide the groups creative journeys, helping participants unlock ideas, emotions, and stories through imagination and artistic expression.

Why This Matters
The creative work developed during these workshops will play a central role in shaping our future awareness campaigns and awareness-raising events. From spoken word performances and photography to exhibitions planned for 2026, the voices of our community will be front and centre in everything we do.
This is about reclaiming narrative, challenging stigma, and showing the wider public the depth, creativity, and humanity of life with Early Onset Parkinson’s.
