We are a new dedicated support group providing information, advocating, raising awareness and offering peer support for Early Onset Parkinson’s in Ireland.  Have the support of people who understand as together we are stronger.  The tulip is the emblem for Parkinson’s worldwide and we have chosen the symbol of a lighthouse beam to help the EOPD community navigate their journey.

Welcome to Early Onset Parkinson’s Ireland

It is estimated that there is about 1800 people living with EOPD in Ireland. Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease was set up in 2021 as a company limited by guarantee and operating as EOPD.ie. EOPD.ie is a registered charity.
EOPD.ie’s, primary audience are people diagnosed with Parkinson’s earlier in life, including Juvenile Parkinson’s and Young Onset Parkinson’s in addition we support all people on their Parkinson’s journey, regardless of age.

Eopd.ie is delighted to welcome Prof. Eilis Dowd from NUI Galway who leads a Parkinson’s research team there. They are currently working on a stem cell project which is funded by Michael J Fox’s Foundation, and in this talk, Eilís will give us the latest update on this research, which is working towards repairing the brain affected by Parkinson's.
