Brendan Completes Incredible Mizen Head to Malin Head Cycle, Raising €3,445 for EOPD Ireland

800 kilometres cycled. €3,445 raised. One incredible act of support.

Everyone at Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease Ireland would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Brendan Treacy, who has successfully completed his remarkable cycle from Mizen Head to Malin Head in support of our charity.

Over the course of 800 kilometres, Brendan faced long days in the saddle, challenging weather (a heatwave!) and demanding terrain—all to raise vital funds and awareness for people living with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease.

While Brendan has raised an incredible €3,445, his achievement goes far beyond the funds collected.

Every kilometre he cycled sparked conversations about Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease, helping to shine a light on a condition that is often misunderstood and overlooked. Through his determination and commitment, Brendan has helped increase public awareness of the unique challenges faced by people diagnosed with Parkinson’s during their working years and family lives.

Most importantly, Brendan showed our community that they are not facing this journey alone. He stood alongside people living with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease and their families, using his challenge to demonstrate solidarity, compassion and hope.

The funds raised will make a lasting difference. They will help us continue delivering support, exercise programmes, education, advocacy and awareness initiatives that empower people living with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease across Ireland.

Brendan undertook this challenge in honour of his brother, John, who lives with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease. His dedication has inspired countless people and demonstrated the power that one individual can have in creating positive change.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, members, volunteers and everyone connected with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease Ireland:

Thank you, Brendan.

Your determination, generosity and kindness have made a lasting impact on our charity and on the lives of the people we support. We are incredibly grateful for everything you have done, and we are proud to have had you champion our community from Ireland’s most southerly point to its most northerly.

Congratulations on an extraordinary achievement.
